How did we get here?
August 2001...
In August of 2001, I started working in the Office of Admission at The Albany Academies. Working in independent school admissions was a perfect fit for me! I loved meeting families, learning about students, helping them learn about the school, and building authentic relationships with my colleagues.
Twenty rewarding years...
My relationship with families and students was the best part of my various roles. I thrived in guiding students to reach their goals and helping them learn the best fit for their interest areas by asking questions, listening to their responses, and asking the next questions to understand their perspectives, strengths, and areas to explore with additional resources.
I helped navigate the enrollment process with compassion, respect, and efficiency for thousands of students and families, each with a unique path which led them to consider an independent school. Learning about them, feeling the emotional experience and guiding them through the process was extremely rewarding.
Time for a change
In early 2024, I decided it was time to make a change. With the encouragement of my friends and family, I decided to start an educational consulting firm to help students and families explore best fit schools and navigate the enrollment and financial aid application process.
Here we are!
In the summer of 2024, I attended the Summer Training Institute from IECA (Independent Educational Consultant Association). This week long course was exceptional! Through the rest of the summer, ACCEPTional Admissions was created!
